For the health and safety of our community, our

11th Annual Touch-A-Truck event will be a drive-through!

What does Look-A-Truck look like?

Look-A-Truck is a unique event that allows children to see, explore, and learn about their favorite big trucks and heavy machinery from the safety of your vehicle. Vehicles on display include emergency responders, military vehicles, SWAT trucks, garbage trucks, and utility trucks. The first 150 vehicles will receive a goodie bag. Vendors will be handing out goodies as well. There is fun for children and adults alike. The whole family will enjoy the event!

How long does the experience take?

We anticipate Look-A-Truck will take between 30 minutes and 45 minutes.

How will my child “explore” the trucks?

While driving through the event, children will be able to see the vehicles, trucks, and equipment up close from the car. We encourage you to roll down your windows and have as much fun from the safety of your vehicle as you would like! Each vehicle will have an audio recording on our website in a first-person narrative. It will be up to each vendor whether they will interact. Some vendors will be handing out goodies.

Will we be allowed to get out of the vehicle?

For the safety of participants and volunteers, all attendees must remain inside their vehicles.

Will bathrooms be available?

As the safety of our participants and volunteers is of the utmost importance, we will not be providing bathrooms for attendees driving through the event.

Will there be Quiet Hours?

Yes, Quiet Hours are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for children who would like to participate in the event but need less sensory stimulation.

IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER: Face coverings are encouraged for anyone in the vehicle interacting with Junior League volunteers and Look-A-Truck participants.

Touch-a-Truck is a family-centric event that offers children a hands-on opportunity to explore all sorts of trucks and vehicles, such as emergency, utility, construction, transportation, and busses. In addition to getting to climb in and on the various trucks and machinery, children also get to meet the people who build, protect and serve the greater Spokane community. Historically, there are usually over 30 local and national companies that proudly participate in the Junior League of Spokane's annual Touch-a-Truck event.

Vehicles on display routinely include construction trucks, emergency responders, tractor-trailers, utility trucks, and a helicopter. The event also features booths from community partners, local mascots, face painters, and food trucks.

The Junior League of Spokane is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the Spokane community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.  The proceeds from Touch-a-Truck help sustain the Junior League of Spokane's mission, provides leadership training to women, to help better serve Spokane, and impacts our community through childhood literacy projects. For more information on these programs, visit the Community Impact page.

We cannot do this work without you. We envision a world with empowered women leaders who have the tools to address society’s most intractable issues. While part of a worldwide women’s movement, our Mission is local and focused on a thriving and vibrant Inland Northwest. Your financial partnership helps support literacy programming for children, voluntarism in the community, and the cultivation of Spokane’s next generation of female leaders.

Touch-a-Truck sponsors are crucial to its success and will have opportunities to connect the women of the Junior League of Spokane and the children and families who explore the vehicles.  You have the opportunity, however, to take your support to true partnership with the Junior League of Spokane and receive recognition online and at our meetings and events throughout the coming year.

For more details about year-long partnership benefits at the Bronze and Silver levels (or Gold or Platinum), please visit the Support the JLS tab on the menu bar.
