Over the past 95 years, the Junior League of Spokane has been instrumental in dozens of community improvement projects, ranging from the creation of a public radio station to the prevention of child abuse. Currently, our focus is on promoting childhood literacy skills in the Spokane community, particularly among low-income kids.
Touch-a-Truck is a family-centric event that offers children a hands-on opportunity to explore all sorts of trucks and vehicles, such as emergency, utility, construction, transportation, and busses.
The Junior League of Spokane began hosting the Treasure Hunt Book Fair in 2017. The goal of the book fair is to help improve the literacy rates in Spokane, get books into the hands of our community's children and inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning.
The Junior League of Spokane engages in several smaller-scale, impactful projects each year. These “Impact” projects range from diaper drives to hosting dinners for homeless families.
The Junior League of Spokane is excited to be able to further our support to the Spokane community through our Book Grant program. In 2018-2019, we were able to give 425 books to our amazing Grant Recipients.
The Junior League of Spokane's Red Hot Night was a unique Mardi Gras celebration and battle of the chefs, which raised money to help support The Junior League of Spokane and childhood literacy projects.
