TREASURE HUNT
BOOK FAIR
The current focus area of the Junior League of Spokane is childhood literacy. Our goals include improving childhood literacy in Spokane, getting books into the hands of our community’s children and inspiring a lifelong love of reading and learning. To work towards these goals, the JLS began hosting the Treasure Hunt Book Fair. Since 2017, the JLS has hosted several book fairs at both the West Central Community Center and East Central Community Center.
Each year, we welcome hundreds of neighborhood kids and their families to this pirate-themed fair, where they visit booths with literacy-related projects and are able to gather information from community partners. Each child gets to select a brand-new book from the Pirate Treasure Chest, while enjoying a free lunch.
