In 2017, the Junior League walked the plank…and dove headfirst into childhood literacy by hosting the Treasure Hunt Book Fair! Hosted at the West Central Community Center, we welcomed neighborhood kids and their families to this pirate-themed fair, where they visited booths with literacy-related projects and gathered information from community partners. Each child who attended got to select a brand new book of their own from the Pirate Treasure Chest. Free lunch was provided to every participant thanks to generous donations from community partners.

Since our inaugural Treasure Hunt Book Fair was a resounding success, we have been expanding it to multiple dates and locations in the spring and summer. Make sure to “like” our Facebook page to keep up with the latest news and 2020 dates!
